Installation
Installation charges
Our installation charges start at £20.00
+ VAT per square meter. Smaller and irregular rooms i.e. Cloakrooms
are charged at a higher rate, as they are time consuming. The installation
charge is always identified in our Detailed Quotation as a separate
item, so that you can see exactly how the costs are calculated.
Installation is currently available in Home Counties only
DIY Installation
If you have confidence in your carpentry skills
and would like to install one of the floors supplied by BTF yourself,
we would be happy to do the survey of the area (Home Counties only)
and advice you on the best way of installation and the materials
you may need.
Where can hardwood floors be installed?
With proper preparation of the sub base hardwood
floors can be installed over Cement Screed, onto Joists, onto Batons,
over Underfloor Heating, over Existing Floorboards, in Bathroom,
Kitchens and other Living Areas.
Hidden Charges
All hidden charges are hidden under your floor.
All hardwood floors are hygroscopic; this means that they will react
to excess moisture in the atmosphere and sub base. The moisture
will cause floors to expand and contract accordingly and it is crucial
to protect floors from it. There are a number of products on the
market that can be used to achieve this; We will supply you with
a DETAILED QUOTATION (Home Counties only) where you will be able
to see exactly how much these materials are costing. If you are
outside the area you may call the office for advice.
Can I irreparably damage a floor supplied by
BTF
Simple answer is NO, if properly installed and
unless your home suffers a major fire or flood. Any product that
is applied to the floor once it has been fitted will eventually
ware off and it will have to be reapplied. How long lacquer, wax,
oil etc lasts depends on your lifestyle. Some finished for example
are water, wine, tea, coffee repellent and if cleaned off immediately
they should not damage the floor surface. If, however, you have
a major accident, than if a vast majority of cases the floor can
be re sanded and re sealed. In the extreme one or more floorboards
can be replaced. |
