Hornbeam
Also known as Ironwood, Hornbeam is a slow-growing deciduous
tree; it reaches up to 30m in height but may take 100 years
to do so. It is hard, finely textured, white in colour and
often compared to ivory. Because of its denseness Hornbeam
is particularly resistant to splitting and the boards machine
well to a smooth, crisp finish.
Our Hornbeam Floor Boards have been kiln dried to 6-9% MC.
All knots are pre-filled, boards are sanded to 120 grit, stress
grooved for extra stability and Tongue and Grooved to 4 sides.
It is possible to produce Hornbeam flooring in 14mm thickness.
Because of the hardness of Hornbeam it is time consuming to
produce it in14mm thickness so the price per square meter
will remain the same as 21mm thick flooring. |
